This is the question that brothers Oliver and Louis Leimbach of Lime Cordiale are facing. As one of Australia’s biggest and busiest bands, therein lies the contradiction of being committed musicians & striving for a more sustainable future.
In searching for an answer, feature-length documentary, Lime Cordiale: On The Road To A Better Tour, is currently in the works exploring the practicality of ethical and sustainable touring.
Filmed over the course of the band’s last world tour, they have been documenting their time with people who are achieving just this — coming up with innovative ways to create and maintain a green touring lifestyle, in the hopes of sparking climate revolution through music.
Change is always possible.
“If we care for the environment and want to halt the effects of climate change, should we stop touring?”
How you can make a difference
Inciting systemic change is no easy feat, but there are super practical things that we can all do on an individual scale which have a massive impact collectively:
Speak Out and Advocate
Vote for Climate, push for better environmental policies and try at least one life shift to nudge the system (e.g. signing a petition, writing to your local political representative(s) to let them know that the climate and environment is something you care about, or divesting from fossil fuels by switching banks or super/pension) Check out Greenpeace International's campaigns.
Energy
Switch your power to 100% renewables. Electrify your household and transport.
Transport
Travel to our gigs by active or public transport and/or consider supporting initiatives like Reforest to address your travel impact.
Food
Eat a plant-based diet, buy locally and seasonally, support regenerative farming and reduce food waste.
Fashion
Say no to fast fashion, buy secondhand, swap and mend your stuff and minimise new clothing purchases.

Music is a powerful force. Together we can harness its power to create a healthier planet and a better future.
Our role is to organise, facilitate and inspire musicians and the broader industry to make changes to improve our environmental performance, from energy use to packaging and waste to transport. Through leading by example and bringing our audiences along with us, we can create deep, cultural change.
A central focus of our activities is to stand in solidarity with First Nations people, who have been protecting this land for tens of thousands of years and have the knowledge and culture to guide us back home. Our campaigns for environmental change cannot be successful without honouring and normalising First Nations leadership, and centralising and amplifying their voices.

Since 1971, the Conservation Council of South Australia has been committed to protecting, restoring and conserving our unique and beautiful natural spaces, and promoting a truly sustainable future for our state. At its heart, Conservation SA is a movement of passionate people who care about our state's incredible natural environment – and we want you to be a part of it. Together we are a powerful force for nature.

Our vision is for a safe climate and a better future - a just, prosperous, and equitable world built with the power of ordinary people.
We are building a grassroots movement calling for urgent action to address the climate crisis. We believe grassroots movements win when led by those with the most at stake, including First Nations communities, young people, those on the frontlines of recent bushfires and floods.

Greenpeace is an independent campaigning organisation that uses non-violent direct action to expose global environmental problems and to force solutions which are essential to a green and peaceful future. We use people power to defy the established order and work towards a green and peaceful future. We seek solutions for, and promote open, informed debate about society’s environmental choices. We welcome, value, and rely on a diversity of people, culture, and perspectives. We learn from one another. Through our campaigning, we create solutions that promote environmental sustainability rooted in social justice.
For Everyone. Always.
